The museum is a treasure trove of quirky objects and artefacts telling the story of life in Mid Devon.

The museum is a bit like a tardis and our visitors are often amazed at the size and variety of our collections! We encourage you to allow at least an hour for your visit, with the last recommended entry at 3pm.
Download our museum leaflet to see a floor plan and for more visitor information.

Dog Friendly

We are a dog-friendly museum and we welcome your well-behaved pet and assistance dogs. Dogs must be kept on a short lead.
All we ask is for you to respect other visitors and keep your dog on a short lead and under control at all times. Please bear in mind when visiting with your dogs that we are also family friendly and often welcome families with young children into the museum.
We have a water bowl available in the yard.

Seating Areas

We have indoor and outdoor seating areas. Use these to enjoy cold drinks and snacks purchases from the museum shop, or your own picnics. You’ll find a highchair at the indoor seating area. There are outdoor games and games and books indoors.

Improvements to the yard have been made possible as part of a grant funded from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, part of the Government’s Levelling Up programme.
