We’re looking for enthusiastic people to join our team of front of house volunteers. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, offering a friendly welcome to the museum. You’ll sell admission to the museum and items from the gift shop, gather visitor information, offer basic tourist information, as well as answering the phone and general enquiries.

You don’t need to know anything about local history (you’ll be amazed at the knowledge you can pick up working on front of house!) but an interest in it helps. Full training is provided, so no experience is necessary, just your enthusiasm and time! If you like working with people, and have a few hours a week or fortnightly to spare to help the museum we’d love you to get in touch.

We’re particularly looking for volunteers on Saturdays, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and fortnightly Friday mornings or afternoons. We’re also looking for someone who might be happy to become a keyholder in time.
