Tiverton, Travel & Trade – Creative Writing Workshop

March 22 at 10:00 - 12:00

A large green steam engine with the letters GWR on the side takes up most of the shot. There is a woman leaning over the railing behind the engine looking at it in a contemplative way.

Join Tiverton Museum’s Writer-in-Residence Emma Phillips to explore ‘Tiverton, Travel and Trade’ through a workshop suitable for writers at all levels. There will be opportunities to view and handle objects from the museum’s collection and writing exercises to generate ideas.

Emma Phillips is a local teacher, poet and short fiction writer. Her work has been placed in competitions such as the Bath Flash Award, Frome Festival Short Story Competition, Graham Burchell Award, Best Microfiction 2022 and has appeared in various publications, including Mslexia, Popshot, Gone Lawn and Free Flash Fiction Magazine. Her flash collection Not Visiting the SS Great Britain is available from Alien Buddha Press. She runs the Culm Valley Writing Group, which meets at the Hayridge Library in Cullompton on the 2nd Monday of every month.
