Our Director Pippa Griffith explores our archives to give an introduction to Mid Devon’s wool trade. Join us to discover why, during the 1600s and early 1700s, Tiverton was the most important inland town in Devon.
This event is run in partnership with the Workers’ Educational Association and is the first of their series of events exploring the history of Tiverton’s wool trade. This will include a talk by Peter Maunder and a guided walk around the town exploring the Merchants’ Trail. More details coming soon.
