A collection of newly acquired rare colth seals is on display in the Wool Trade Gallery.
The newly redeveloped Wool Trade Gallery examines the important role Mid Devon played within the Devon cloth trade.
Wealthy merchants based in the area exported cloth from Devon across Europe and to the Near East. On display are rare Tiverton cloth seals found in The Netherlands and a very unusual painted Tillet Cloth. The gallery looks at the impact the cloth industry had on Tiverton and the local area.
Funding to redevelop this gallery was gratefully received from The Draper’s Company and The Norman Family Charitable Trust.
